掌握幼儿九大敏感期
何谓敏感期？
孩子从呱呱落地后到会走路、说话、吃饭、写字……，孩子一切从无开始，是如何完成这件 「看似不可能的任务」？以适应这个复杂的世界。
那是因为自然赋予正在发育成长中的生命特有的力量。蒙特梭利指出，助长幼儿发展的主要动力有二：一是敏感力，一是吸收性心智。其中的敏感力是指一个「人」或其它有知觉的生物个体，在生命的发展过程中，会对外在环境的某些刺激，产生特别敏锐的感受力，以至影响其心智的运作或生理的反应，而出现特殊的好恶或感受，这种力量的强弱，我们称之为「敏感力」。
当敏感力产生时，孩子的内心会有一股无法遏止的动力，驱使孩子对他所感兴趣的特定事物，产生尝试或学习的狂热，直到满足内在需求或敏感力减弱，这股动力才会消逝。蒙特梭利称这段时期为「敏感期」，有些教育家则称为学习的关键期或教育的关键期。
蒙特梭利在长期与儿童的相处中，提出了敏感期的原理，并将它运用在幼儿教育上，对提升幼儿的智力有极卓越的贡献。
掌握九大敏感期
根据蒙特梭利对婴幼儿敏感期的观察与研究，可以归纳出下列九种：
语言敏感期(0至6岁)
婴儿开始注视大人说话的嘴形，并发出牙牙学语声时，就开始了他的语言敏感期。学习语言对成人来说是件困难的工程，但幼儿能容易的学会母语，正因为幼儿具有自然所赋予的语言敏感力。因此，若孩子在两岁左右还迟迟不开口说话时，应带孩子至医院检查是否有先天障碍。
语言能力影响孩子的表达能力，因此，父母应经常和孩子说话、讲故事，或多用「反问」的方式，加强孩子的表达能力，为日后的人际关系奠定良好基础。
