January 5, the Huadu News reported that: the 200 Cynomolgus monkeys raised by the Guangzhou Chunsheng Biological Technology Development Co., Ltd. have passed the examination of the Huadu Entry-Exit Inspection Bureau, and been exported to the United States for the first time.

On the same day, the Huadu News reported that: the district court's case filling department was entitled the Advanced Unit of the Court Case Filling for Good Mail Visit Service of the Province, and became the only one in the 12 grass-root courts of Guangzhou who had won this special honor.

January 9, the Huadu News reported that: an environmental protection special examination and acceptance group, composed of relevant leaders and experts from the State Environmental Protection Administration, Guangdong Provincial Environmental Protection administration, Guangzhou Municipal Environmental Protection Administration, etc., implemented examination and acceptance with the economical sedan technology reform program with the annual production volume of 150,000 sets, of the Dong Feng Automobile Co., Ltd. The group approved that the environmental protection facilities had passed the State Environmental Protection Special Examination and Acceptance.

January 10, Chairman of the Xiamen Taikoo Airplane Engineering Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Airplane Engineering Co., Ltd., Mr. Chen Bingjie, led the Taikoo Group's investigation delegation for a visit to our district. January 16, the starting ceremony of the Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center program of the FEDEX in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was solemnly held on the construction site in the town of Huadong. Provincial and municipal leaders Lin Shusen, Tang Binghan, Zhang Guangning, Ling Weixian, Xue Xiaofeng and Gan Xin, Guangzhou Air Force leaders Liang Suiqun, Zhang Guomin, President of the Asia-Pacific Region of the US Federal Express, Jian Lixing, President of the Provincial Airport Administration Group, Liu Zijing, district leaders Pan Xiao, Wang Zhongbing, and principals of the provincial and municipal relevant functional departments and the committed construction units’ representatives attended the starting ceremony. The transshipment center program of the FEDEX was located on the east of the east runway of the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport; it covered an area of 2,451 mu, with a total investment volume of 1.83 billion Yuan.

 January 25, the Vice Chairman of the Hainan Airlines Group, Wang Jian led an investigation group to pay a visit to our district; district leaders Pan Xiao, Wang Zhongbing, Lou Xukui, Wang Xiezhen and principals of the relevant functional departments directly under the district received the investigation group.

January 25, the 2006 Huadu Spring Flowers Fair opened in the Nanfang Flowers Transaction Center. Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, Wang Xiaoling, district leaders Pan Xiao, Wang Zhongbing, Mai Zhongmin, Huang Shuiji, and Shi Qizhu, etc., leaders of relevant departments of Guangzhou and relevant leaders from the departments, commissions, offices, bureaus, general companies, and towns and streets attended the opening ceremony.

January 29, the Huayan Temple of the Furong Qi Mountain, Huadu District was going to hold the Spring Ten-Thousand Buddha Ceremony from the lunar New Year’s Day through the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, citing the Ten-Thousand Buddha Names Sutra, and praying the peace of the world, the elements are propitious, the country prosperous and people at peace.

 January 29, i.e. the first day of the lunar year, a large Spring Festival Cultural and Sports Pleasance Activity was held on the Huadu Square. Various wonderful and exciting entertainments such as the Waken Lion, Dragon Dance, and Gong-Drum, etc. as well as magic, gift games, and riddle guessing, etc. attracted over ten thousand people attending.
